My artistic practice is a dive into the boundless energy and majesty of the ocean. Each piece is an abstract seascape, born from a interplay of acrylics and the captivating depth of epoxy resin. I build layers, allowing pigments to bleed, separate, and form the distinctive ‘crested waves’ effect that define my signatured style. The high-gloss, glass-like finish of the resin magnifies the illusion of movement and depth, inviting the viewer to gaze into a captured moment of oceanic power. Rather than a literal depiction, my aim is to distill the essence of waves – their rhythmic dance, their frothy crests, and the profound blues of the deep. This fluid approach, leaning into Abstract Expressionism, allows for a non-representational yet deeply evocative exploration. The ‘cells’ and ‘lacing’ within the white foam are deliberate elements, mirroring the organic beauty found at the water’s edge. Through these vibrant, multi-layered creations, I seek to evoke a sense of tranquility, awe, and the timeless, ever-changing spirit of the sea.
