Come out and make your own amazing punch needle wall hanging!
December 6th 12pm – 4:30pm
Coffee and Treats will be provided to help fuel your creativity!
Can’t make this workshop in person? No worries! We have a conferencing camera and will be broadcasting on zoom!
What is Punch Needling? We’ll it’s sort-of like embroidery but much faster. You also can use any thickness of embroidery cotton and yarn! Your needle runs along the surface of the fabric and as you “punch” you create loops on one side of the fabric and stitches on the other side.
You can use either side of your work to display.
In this workshop I’ll teach you the basic technique and guide you in making Two 20cm punched hoops with abstract designs. I will also show you how to create a cool drippy technique and how connect the hoops with a draping technique!
Your will create two 20cm round pieces that can then be attached to create a larger piece. You will be welcome to whip stitch your pieces into display hoops OR mount them on a hard felt backing.
Because of the scale of this piece we will need a little longer than I usually set aside for my workshops. However you are welcome to join for however long you want.
What do you get if you come out and join us?
– Two Pieces of Monks cloth
– Heaps of yarn options
– 2x wooden hoops for display
Materials you will also use and are welcome to purchase are:
– 1 plastic non-slip hoop
– An ABCD Adjustable Punch Needle
– Pins for pattern transfer
– Curved embroidery scissors
– A yarn needle
– A water soluble marker
Base Cost for the workshop is: $100
