The native bush of Aotearoa is both sanctuary and source. Its filtered light, tangled growth, and quiet rhythm inform my practice. I respond in two visual languages. One is restrained and minimal, distilling the landscape into subtle form and negative space. The other is layered and expressive — abstract florals built with depth, colour, and movement, reflecting the richness and complexity of native growth. These works are not direct representations, but impressions — moments of stillness and immersion translated into paint. I hope they invite viewers to pause, breathe, and recall their own connection to the natural world.
