Description //
Texture. Thread. Process. Storytelling.
Between Fibre and Form is a curated exhibition exploring contemporary fibre art and tactile making practices from artists across Taranaki and Aotearoa New Zealand.
Bringing together artists working across weaving, stitching, textiles, sculptural fibre practices and mixed media, this exhibition celebrates the space where material and form intersect. From delicate woven structures and hand-worked textiles to contemporary explorations of fibre as sculptural form, each work reflects a deep connection to process, texture and thoughtful making.
This exhibition invites visitors to slow down and engage with the tactile nature of handcrafted work — exploring how fibre can communicate memory, storytelling, identity and connection through material.
Between Fibre and Form celebrates both traditional techniques and contemporary interpretations, highlighting artists who push the boundaries of fibre-based practice while remaining grounded in the intimacy and care of handmade processes.
Visitors can expect a richly layered exhibition filled with texture, detail and thoughtful craftsmanship — an exhibition that honours the beauty of making by hand.
