Photography is all about light & shadow, lines & shapes, textures & tones. Add to that focus, depth of field, focal length of lens and viewpoint A photographer has a lot to consider. A bit like trying to decide what brush and what paint and what media and what subject. However instinct usually rules. Your eye catches a moment which you then translate into a still image via your camera. Experience combines all the variables into this moment of time. When you get it right the reward is huge! When a viewer comes along and says “wow!” That’s a cool feeling. I love sharing my photographs but satisfying myself is always target number 1. Three things lead to great photographs – having your eyes open, having a camera with you ready to fire and being in the right place at the right time. Simple really. These images are a result of many variables working together in my favour. Or maybe it’s just a case of ‘point & shoot’ with a bit of luck thrown in! In each image the light was right.
