Artist Statement: Carl Sargent

A local creative who has the ability to see an old plank and turn it into something magical. Carl is the owner of Revive Building Recyclers and for many years has been recycling materials and showing others how to turn discarded and recycled treasures into a new lease of life. Pouring the character back into homes and projects. Carl generously works with and helps other artist’s to create their visions, it was only time that Carl stepped out to resolve his own creative stirrings.

Spotted Illusions is an interactive installation, which responds to sound, music and voice. Come close and watch the illusions of the lights bounce across a mirror as the sound creates rhythms from your voice. Change the settings as you please with a cleverly hidden remote installed in a pocket of the recycled floorboard frame.
